Yahoo to expand its business announced that they would buy Musicmatch for $160 million. Currently Musicmatch sells music online and with this takeover Yahoo will be in direct competition with Apple’s iTunes, Microsoft’s online music store and with RealNetworks.

Yahoo had acquired Launch Media in 2001 for $12 million. It already has advertise supported free music site along with internet radio services and discussions board for music.
