RIAA sues Internet2 downloaders

The RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) will be filing 405 lawsuits against students who are accused of downloading of illegal pirated music and movies via super-highspeed Internet2 designed for use among universities.

The students accused are of 18 different American institutes namely University of California, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Michigan State University, Carnegie Mellon University, University of California

RIAA told the downloading of pirated music and movies are downloaded via Internet2’s file sharing application, i2hub which allows students to download movies in less than 5 minutes or a song in less than 20 seconds.
