Samsung has developed the world’s first and largest single-sheet 40 inch TFT OLED for the flat panel TV market. The company said yesterday that it succeeded in developing the prototype that features faster video response than its traditional LCD counterparts, paired with low power consumption.
“Our development of a 40-inch OLED will provide a firm basis from which we can become the unassailable market leader in the flat panel display market of the future,” said Chung Kyu-ha, VP of Samsung’s LCD R&D Center.
The panel will be shown to the public for the first time at the SID 2005 International Symposium in Boston later this month.
