Apple iPod with Samsung’s Flash

Apple Computer Inc. has decided to buy about 40 percent of Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd.’s flash memory for its bestseller iPod Mini MP3 player.

Apple is expected to introduce a version of iPod Mini that uses NAND flash memory instead of a hard disk drive.

Samsung is the world’s largest producer of NAND flash memory which is used in hot-selling MP3 music players, digital cameras and high-end mobile phones commands a 55 percent share of the market.
