Dell Laptop Explodes


After reading this, you may feel desktops are better than laptops. At a Japanese conference, an onlooker was just a feet away when a Dell laptop exploded into flames. The laptop exploded many times which scorched for more than 5 minutes. Luckily, no one was hurt.

Mr. Henrik was working on his desk when he heard someone prattling fire and saw his co-worker’s notebook burning into flames. The cause of the fire was the faulty battery which burnt throughout, creating a big hole in the laptop. [...] Its been firing Dell laptops off late. Officially its the third Dell laptop in smoke but this incident occured much before the conference or the recent office incident. This time, the story comes from a Singaporean reader who was working late in the office on his Dell Latitude D410. This is the biggest recall ever made by Dell and the faulty batteries were shipped to customers between April 1, 2004 to July 18, 2006.
