Toshiba announced a new compact notebook this week. It is the Dynabook SS S30 which packs a Intel Core Solo processor running at 1.06GHz, 512MB of RAM which can be extended upto 4GB. It has a 12.1″ wide WXGA low temperature polysilicon liquid crystal display, a 30GB HDD (4200 RPM), Intel 945GM Express chipset, 3 USB 2.0 ports, 802.11a/b/g Wi-Fi, LAN, modem, SD card slot and a CF card slot. One of the major factor which separates this notebook with others is the battery life which the company suggests is around 9 hours and 13 hours of standby. However it will cost a hefty 2,64,600 Yen ($2,257) and will be selling in Japan in second week of September.
