Samsung Notebooks India

We had a fair amount of idea of what Samsung India was up to but we didn’t expect them to re-enter the market without creating any hoopla. Their website has listed eight notebooks including a netbook to appeal to the Indian consumers. The notebooks listed are NP-R460, NP-R610, NP-R508, NP-R510, NP-Q310E, NP-X360, NP-X460 and NP-NC10 netbook.

The cheapest of the lot is of course the NP-NC10 netbook that will sell for Rs. 28,477 ($606). It has the same feature set as the international version that includes 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD and Windows XP Home OS.

If you’re willing to spend a little more, then you can settle for NP-R508 (15.4-inch). This notebook will sell in two variants that will cost Rs. 34,604 ($734) and Rs. 39,764 ($844) respectively. The difference between both the versions is the processor and RAM. The cheaper one houses Pentium Dual Core T3200 2.0GHz processor and 1GB RAM while the other one goes for Core 2 Duo T5800 2.0Ghz processor and 2GB RAM.

NP-R510 comes next in the line carrying a price tag of Rs. 42,989 ($912). The NP-R510 is a 15.4-inch laptop with Intel C2D proc clocking at 2.0GHz, 2GB RAM, onboard graphics, 1.3 megapixel webcam, 250GB HDD, USB, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and host of security features.

NP-X460 and NP-R460 are pegged at a same price of Rs. 57, 394 ($1217). The specs of both these notebooks are also the same, but NP-X460 looks more chic and is tad thinner than NP-R460.

NP-Q310E and NP-R610 are the same except for their screen size. Their details specifications can be found over here. The notebooks will go for Rs. 61,694 ($1309) and Rs. 62,339 ($1322) respectively.

Finally comes the slick and ‘lighter than air’ NP-X360 which will go for a whopping Rs. 115,014 ($2340). Full specs here.
