What was just a parody by one company; another one converted it to reality with some modifications. A Korean company has unveiled a bikini with playback buttons which can control the music of your iPod. This piece of wearable technology will be available in Korea for gals who are lazy to reach their iPods while they are sunbathing or maybe to show how tech savvy they are.
No word about pricing, availability or other designs.

Â
According to a study presented by a 17-year-old teenager, Jay Thaker, world’s best selling music player can be hazardous to people using pacemakers. The test was carried out on 100 people (mean age was 77) equipped with pacemakers and found out that iPods caused the electromagnetic equipment in pacemakers to malfunction. The interference was detected half of the time when iPods were held near the patient’s chest at a distance of not more than 2 inches. At some occasions, it interfered with the heart device at a distance of about 18 inches.
It is still unclear if all music devices pose the same problem as this test was done with iPods only.

Some of the iPod accessories available are rather useless but these shirts sold by iSkins seem to be useful. The iShirt sports an elastic pocket at the side which can hold the player. Now there is nothing great in this but hey, who gave it a thought till now? The shirt also has a moisture soaking material which will keep your body sweat away from the gadget.

This interesting iPod tale comes from Berkshire, UK. Apparently, The Fat Duck, a restaurant will now be serving iPods with their food. Why? Heston Blumenthal, the owner of the restaurant reckons that listening to music while eating enhances the eating experience. Thus, a new dish called “Sound of the Sea†will be served with iPods.
I did a series of tests with Charles Spence at Oxford University three years ago, which revealed that sound can really enhance the sense of taste. We ate an oyster while listening to the sea and it tasted stronger and saltier than when we ate it while listening to barnyard noises, for example.

We know Apple has big plans. And one of the steps to make it bigger is to launch iPods which will feature Wi-Fi connectivity. DigiTimes speculates about the new iPods to be launched in the second half of this year. According to their source, Universal Scientific Industrial (USI) will manufacture the Wi-Fi modules while Foxconn will produce the players.
The Wi-Fi enabled iPods make sense as its competitor Zune offers this feature although with some restrictions. One of the major advantages of having a built-in Wi-Fi would be that a user could connect to the iTunes store and download songs on the go. Don’t think that Apple would unveil its new line of iPod soon because it’s the iPhone pressure which is mounting on each and every Apple employee.
