Creative is on a roll. After launching Zen X-Fi and Krystal, they are back again with Mozaic. The keypad is designed in true Moziac style which can be changed with the Mozaic skin packs. On the specs front, the player has got a 1.8-inch 64K TFT display, loudspeaker, different storage capacity options of 2GB/4GB/8GB, FM Radio and playback of audio (MP3/WMA/WAV/Audible 4), video (after transcoding to the compatible format) and image (JPEG /BMP/GIF/PNG/TIFF) files. IF you get bored of your collection then there’s FM Radio to the rescue with voice recorder and EQ settings added for functionality.

The player as you would expect is not available worldwide, Singapore for the time being at a price tag of SGD 99 (USD 73), SGD 129 (USD 93) and SGD 169 (USD 124).

A beautiful looking PMP from Cowon will soon head for the Korean market. Dubbed as P5, the exterior of which is graced by luxurious hairline metal body while the interior runs on a Alchemy AU1250 fast processor clocking 700MHz with Windows CE 5.0 onboard and wide 5-inch touchscreen display capable of supporting 800×480 pixels of resolution. Other than the obvious multimedia playback support of audio, video and image, Cowon has added Widget, Haptic support with other inclusions like Bluetooth, TV-Out, Flash, FM Radio, Dictionary and T-DMB receiver.

The media player will come in storage capacities of 60GB and 80GB and will be available in Korea soon. No word on pricing yet.

We first saw ZEN X-Fi as a leak, then as a FCC filing and today its official. Creative has pulled off the curtains from its Wi-Fi enabled player which is currently available in Singapore. Most of the features mentioned before are true. There’s Yahoo and Windows Live Messenger support, wireless streaming of music, X-Fi technology for enhanced music experience, loudspeaker,SD card slot and FM Radio.

Creative’s leaked Wi-Fi enabled PMP seems to be on track. They have filed a FCC application which says ‘confidential’ but slips out some more details about the device. New things to come forward are the 8, 16 and 32GB storage size options and multi-format playback. Audio formats supported are MP3/WMA/AAC while WMV/DivX/Xvid/MPEG-4 will handle the video department. Battery life is expected to last around 36 hours for audio and 5 hours for video.

Creative’s latest entry in the PMP market will be with Zen X-Fi. The official announcement is expected to be in a month but the important details of the device are out. The promising player will have Wi-Fi to wirelessly share music as well as play music on network based devices with the help of Public Home Server. There’s an integrated speaker, 9-point navigational keys which will work for IMs just like in mobile phones. FM Radio, SD card slot and voice recorder are other included features.

Samsung spreads more DMB love in their homeland. They are now selling YP-P2 music player equipped with T-DMB. To support excellent viewing experience, Samsung has integrated their proprietary tech mDNIe(mobile Digital Natural Image Engine) for vivid colors and clear picture. It has also got a 3-inch touchscreen display with a contrast ratio of 16:9. Presence of Bluetooth makes an icing on the cake.

Hue options come in black or white with storage capacities of 4GB, 8GB and 16GB. Priced KRW239,000 ($231), KRW309,000 ($299) or KRW389,000 ($377) respectively.

Microsoft has got out another limited edition of their only PMP, Zune. Peter Saville from Factory Records is the man responsible to etch out the design of Joy Division Zune. Only 500 units will be up for grabs from the third week of June at a price of 260 Euros ($404).

Just when we pointed out the patent by Apple for solar panels fitted in the devices, Thanko comes up with a same solution for their latest PMP. The Solar MP4 Player when charged with the help of sunlight, it gives an audio playback of around 35 minutes and video playback of 15 minutes. Other than this revolutionary feature, there is nothing much to talk about. It will carry 4GB of storage capacity with an option to expand memory with miniSD card and plays all the standard music and video formats. Games, FM Radio and text reader is also included.

Price is 9505 Yen (US$90).

So how many competitors do we have to outdo Apple’s iPod Nano? The list is long and one more adding to it is the Sansa Fuze which is capable of doing much more than its best selling rival.
