Updated: iPhone 3G to release in India next month?

    23rd July 2008

    iPhone 3G

Techtree has got some meaty report about the availability, pricing and other details of iPhone in India. According to their source, the phone will be seen first in the hands of Vodafone customers because of some 15 day advantage and this date can be anywhere in August. Only the 8GB model will be available initially at a price of Rs. 11,500 to 12,000 (Wow!!!). The price mentioned is only for the phone and excludes the data plan from the providers.

We will stick this as a rumor for the time being until the involved parties don’t declare anything officially.

UPDATE: A quick contact to the Apple PR gave us the following reply:

Thank you for your interest in iPhone 3G.
Beyond the announcement that Airtel and Vodafone will be bringing iPhone 3G to India later this year, Apple has nothing further to share at this point.

Sony coming with an updated PSP?

    22nd July 2008

News from China comes is that SCE is prepping an updated PSP. The rumored PSP 3000 (current is 2000) is expected to have an integrated microphone and few aesthetic changes like the PS button replacing the HOME button and the metallic ring made thinner at the back.

No confirmation from Sony yet but such minor changes will hardly affect the consumer even if this turns out to be true.

Will we see a new war waged by these mobile makers? As soon as Sony Ericsson released their 8-megapixel creation, rumors about the same type of phones flew from other handset manufacturers. And today its Samsung which has the rumor mill buzzing with its SGH-i850 – a 8 megapixel phone running on Symbian OS. If the specifications turn out to be true, the phone will give many other phones a run for their money. Full specs and some more images after the break.

Is it really the N85 slider?

    10th June 2008

Engadget has got their hands on a N-Series slider device bearing N00 as the model number. The phone is surely in prototype stage but the shocker comes is that they are reporting it as N85. Now if you remember, few days ago we reported about a patent of a slider phone which was also numbered as N85. We are still unsure which one is true but according to Engadget, this phone (whatever the model number maybe) takes design cues from N81 and will feature a 5 megapixel camera (no Xenon flash), GPS and all the regular features we have been finding in the new N-Series phones. No other details as such but not a killer device from any angle.

Voodoo to come with a thinner notebook than Air?

    6th June 2008

Was Rahul Sood’s infamous act really made to poke a fun of Apple’s Macbook Air? Or there was a hidden motive behind it? We don’t know but we think otherwise after this conversation between a guy and Sood who diplomatically hinted at a thinner laptop than MBA is in the offing.

We’ll know the truth on June 10.

    Nokia N85 in the works?

    3rd June 2008

    Nokia N85

If you thought that Nokia N93 was a good looking beast with its camera sticking on the side then you maybe happy to hear that the Finnish guys are working on the same concept but on a different form factor. The phone rumored to be in the works is N85 which will be a slider phone as compared to the flip N93. It is expected to come with a 5 megapixel rotatable camera, WQVGA screen and a lot of weight considering its thickness.

Asus Eee Tablet in this Computex?

    26th May 2008

We are still in a fix on what to believe. English site reckons that a desktop version of Eee will be released this Computex and the Aussie counterpart say that a non-clamshell touchscreen-only tablet is in the offing this June. Both the websites seem to have obtained information from trustable sources and it will be the expo itself which will let us know what exactly is Asus’s offering. Till then let’s keep our fingers crossed!

MWG shows up some O2 phones for 2008

    24th December 2007

    o2phones.jpg

It is no secret that Telefónica O2 has given up its Asian unit to Mobile and Wireless Group (MWG) in the beginning of November this year. MWG has announced that they will be responsible for all the warranty and after sales support of O2 in the region. But cruising through their homepage, it seems that they have leaked or rather deliberately announced the phones to be expected in 2008. The new phones XDA Atom 4, Flame 2 and Zinc 2 have a coming soon tag. There’s no clickable link to see what it is but the hidden links too show the “Coming Soon” status.

    Nokia N82

    30th October 2007

    Nokia N82 Live Shot

Nokia’s rumored N82 will see the light soon. As the launch date is inching closer (rumored to be November 2), more details of the phone emerge. The phone will run on Quad band, support UMTS & HSDPA. It will feature a 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens with autofocus and real xenon flash. If this is not enough, there’s another camera, a 2.4” 16M color screen, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, FM Radio, TV-Out and microSD card slot. Now this is what I call a powerpacked phone.
