Three youngsters, Sunil Kumar, Pankaj Sharma, Pooja Sharma have developed a unique pair of shoes which enables a user to charge their cell phones while they are walking. It works by having a dynamo attached to the base of the shoe which converts energy generated while walking into electric energy. With the help of bridge rectifier it converts AC into DC current which is able to produce five to six volts of electricity, enough to charge a mobile phone.

The shoes are still a prototype but has won an award from National Innovation Foundation under the students category. They also plan to integrate a small heater inside the shoes which could help to keep the feet warm during winter and a small air pump to help the circulation of air within the shoes.
