Toshiba Matsushita prepares 0.99mm screen

Not too long ago, LG and Philips announced their development on world’s slimmest LCD screen. And today at the CEATEC, Toshiba along with Matsushita shows a prototype of a 2″ TFT LCD screen which is the slimmest for the time being. The thickness is just under one millimeter (0.99mm) and weighs just 3.5 grams. Let the countdown begin now for the slimmest mobile phone.

Now, Samsung more famous for its slim fetish has announced that they have developed the world’s slimmest TFT LCD screen for mobile phones which is just 0.82mm thick. They have also mentioned of integrating the i-Lens technology which will enable the screen to be more thinner, shock resistant and easier to read than today’s LCD panels. Samsung touts that using the i-Lens technology it will make the phones more slimmer by 1.4 - 2.4mm. So are we seeing a slimmer model than X820 in future, eh? [...]
