Dell spreads AMD love, announces another AMD notebook


After sufficing the budget home users with Inspiron 1501, Dell have announced a new AMD processor based notebook for the business class. The Latitude 131L will have the option of selecting AMD Turion 64 X2 dual-core processor ($899) or Mobile AMD Sempron processor ($629) with other features like 15.4″ wide screen display, Windows Vista ready, integrated graphics and an optional CompleteCare Accidental Damage service.

[...] As reported yesterday, Dell’s AMD powered business class notebook, Latitude 131L has been unveiled and is now on sale on their website. Well, the low end model is priced at $599 features Mobile AMD Sempron 3500+ processor, Windows XP Home Edition, 15.4″ WXGA display, 256MB ATI Radeon Xpress1150 GPU, 512MB RAM, 8X DVD burner, 60GB HDD and Wi-Fi. The highest model manages to go just above $1k with a change in the processor which is AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-50 or just add $30 for TL-52, memory is spruced up to 1GB and a 80GB hard drive.
