Enactment of the incident

Today’s youths need to know the differentiation between reality and virtual reality. An 18-year old high school student recently robbed a taxi driver before killing him to death. He was not in need of money but in fact he wanted to see if the real world crime is as easy to commit as it is done in the GTA series. He was an avid player of the franchise and confessed that “he wanted to find out if it was as easy in real life to rob a taxi as it was in the game.”

Post incident, the local distributor wants to play it safe and has decided to take the game away from the retail shelves. It’s saddening from two perspectives – that an innocent guy died and secondly, other sane gamers will be deprived of the game.
