Toshiba already has the credit of making the world’s first 1.8-inch 240GB PATA Drive and here is another feat which is also the world’s first. Toshiba has created its third generation 1.8-inch SATA drive (MKxx29GSG) boasting storage space up to 250GB. A user will now be able to experience fast transfer speeds given the SATA interface and rotational speed of 5,400 RPM. The hard drives also integrate a free fall sensor which enhances protection from unwanted bumps and shocks.

Toshiba will start shipping these drives to manufacturers in December which means we can have high capacity music players and other gadgets within the first quarter of next year. At least, we can hope.
